The 55th Annual Lackawanna County Saint Patrick’s Parade will begin on March 12th, 2016 as it has every year since the Parade’s inception by the celebration of the Holy Mass at 10:00 A.M. in Saint Peter’s Cathedral by His Excellency Most Reverend Joseph C. Bambera, D.D., J.C.L., Bishop of the Diocese of Scranton.
The celebration of Saint Patrick is a celebration of the Faith of the Irish that emigrated from Ireland to the United States of America ending up here in the Lackawanna Valley. It is right and fitting that the celebration should start with an exercise of the Faith for which Glorious Saint Patrick struggled and sacrificed to spread to the people of Ireland.
Bishop Bambera follows in a long line of notable celebrants of the Mass which includes several Archbishops and Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church.
Join us in starting our Parade by attending the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass prior to the other Parade Day festivities. Our Faith is the reason we celebrate so start your Parade Day as Saint Patrick himself would want.
